The Highland Football Program under Head Coach Philip G. Lovato Jr.
When Phil Lovato took the reins of Highland Football, he and his staff set out to build a stronger, better-educated team with a real presence in the community. The work has connected Hornet football to service, student opportunity, family support, and a more competitive standard on the field.

- Multiple playoff appearances after a 10-year drought
- Won the program’s first 7-on-7 tournament in more than 10 years, beating more than 15 teams

- First high school team in the Southwest to implement multiple injury-prevention technologies

Opportunity for every player
- Created fundraising opportunities that reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket costs for players and families
- Worked with local businesses to provide healthier food options for players and families
- Built a program where support on and off the field helps student-athletes stay involved and grow
