Highland Football has made service part of its identity—putting in work alongside neighbors, community organizations, student groups, and local leaders.
Hands-on service
- Relocated the Cloud Dancer Horse Therapy Facility
- Completed Route 66/Highland-area cleanup work with Hub 66
- Cleaned more than 150 yards for free or by donation
- Cleaned Paradise Hills Golf Course
- Loaded furniture trailers for Saranam LLC
- Cleaned a yard for the Make-A-Wish Foundation
- Helped clean up Citizen Church
- Cleaned UNM’s gym and football stadium
Youth & community outreach
- Created and hosted the Hornet Multi-Sport Youth Camp for three years, serving more than 300 children
- Highland District youth attended free of charge, with scholarships coordinated alongside a city commissioner and multiple city councilors
- Volunteered at the Senior Olympics at UNM
- Worked with Netflix during filming of the series Daybreak
- Partnered with Nu Rho Fraternity on a STEM technology camp
- Supported the Summer of Non-violence Block Party with a county commissioner
- Supported Take Back the Night with Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland and Mayor Keller
- Partnered with the Elks Lodge on community outreach
Highland tradition
- Participated in Giving Tree programs at more than three feeder schools over six years
- Caddied the Bill Gentry Memorial Golf Tournament for three straight years
- Earned multiple Pay It Forward Awards
- Marched with the band in eight March-A-Thon fundraisers
- Supported the Drama Department’s production of The Wizard of Oz
- Helped FCCLA set up the Highland Hall of Fame induction ceremony
- Hosted multiple alumni reunion tours

Coaching, academics & mentoring
- Built a diverse coaching staff with multiple generations and ethnicities
- Hired a full-time paid academic coach
- Created a Teacher of the Week program to build staff support
- Established a mentoring program with Nu Rho Fraternity
College & career exposure
- Created regular college visits for student-athletes
- Set up multiple base visits to introduce military career opportunities
- Chosen to represent APS at the Western Sky Community Care NFL Hall of Fame Day event
- Connected athletes with NFL Hall of Famers Drew Pearson, Tony Dorsett, and Darrell Green
